Getting the Perfect Shot
Getting your subject to look at the camera can be challenging, but a few simple tricks can make all the difference. Have a helper make sounds or gestures behind you to direct their gaze toward the lens. You can also use conversation or gentle prompts to capture their attention and create that perfect engaging expression. Remember to be patient – the perfect shot is worth waiting for, and it’s often best to take photos when your subject is relaxed and comfortable rather than during busy or distracting moments.
Background Considerations
When it comes to backgrounds, simplicity is key. Simple backgrounds work best, such as solid colors, natural settings, or plain walls, as they won’t compete with your subject for attention. Try to avoid busy patterns or cluttered settings that might distract from the face. Since the background will be removed during the design process, focus primarily on getting a great shot of the subject’s face rather than worrying about the perfect setting. Don’t stress too much about backgrounds – our team can work with most settings to create beautiful results.
What to Avoid
Certain types of photos simply won’t work well for custom pajamas, so it’s important to avoid common pitfalls. Stay away from blurry or out-of-focus images, as well as photos where the subject is moving quickly and appears motion-blurred. Extreme close-ups that cut off the top of the head, chin, or other facial features won’t provide enough of the face to work with. Dark or heavily shadowed photos make it difficult to see facial features clearly, and low-resolution or pixelated images won’t print well on fabric. Finally, avoid photos with multiple people unless you specifically want all of them featured on the pajamas.
